First Ascent

First AscentThe First Ascent course is for those with little or no climbing experience. In this course, we will teach you everything you will need to know for a successful day of outdoor rock climbing! This comprehensive beginners course focuses on the fundamentals of rock climbing including tying basic knots, belay and rappel skills, climbing movement, and risk management in an outdoor setting. The First Ascent course is the first step to becoming a safe and confident climber.

This course is available in both multi-pitch and single pitch locations, and can be booked in a 2 or 3 day format for 1-6 people (maximum 3 climbers for multi-pitch). Due to the amount of information covered in the First Ascent course, a 3-day format is recommended to solidify skills and give you as much experience and mileage on the rock as possible.

As with all of our courses, the curriculum can be tailored to fit your needs. We strive to allow ample time for practice and repetition of the skills you will learn on any of our courses.
