Summer Rock Camp

Rock Camp is a week-long immersion in rock climbing for co-ed ages 12-17! During the week, the group will camp at a mid-Atlantic climbing destination and climb daily, while focusing on technical skills, climbing movement, and risk management. Rock Climbing Summer Camp New River Gorge, WVEach day will be devoted to focusing on climbing disciplines such as top roping, sport leading, trad leading, and multi-pitch climbing. Climbers should expect to leave the week with a better understanding of climbing disciplines, technical skills, and new climbing partners and friends.

When not on the rock, the group will camp with the NC State Parks(Pilot Mtn), National Forest Service(Seneca), or American Alpine Club(New River Gorge) where they can enjoy formal bath houses with running water, hot showers, and tent pads. Climbers will share cooking duties for the team, with oversight from the guide staff. All food for the week is included.

In camp, the group will have downtime to sKids Rock Climbing Camphare their experiences from the day, practice rope work, check out the night sky, or hike the nearby trails.

Our Guides 
Participants will spend the week with 2 AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructors to maintain 1:4 guide to participant ratios. All guides are also certified Wilderness First Responders. The BRMG staff’s focus during camp is safety, fun, and learning!

Experience and Gear

Rock Camp is geared to climbers of all climbing grades and experience levels. The group can be split between the two guides based on experience and goals to ensure the right fit for everyone. The week includes all technical climbing equipment needed during camp, however, participants are welcome to bring their personal climbing gear. Camping equipment is not included; participants will need a small-medium tent, sleeping pad and bag, camp chair, and mess kit.

How to Register: 
– A minimum of 5 participants is required for a camp to run
– Participants will be notified on a rolling basis as camps reach operating minimums
– Once you complete our online registration, you will receive a 50% deposit invoice within 6-12 hours. You will then receive a confirmation email with detailed logistics and a registration packet.
– $250 of your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable on all summer camp programs. All other cancellation policies apply.
