Sally Ontiveros


Sally Ontiveros was born and raised Anchorage AK and has since lived all around the states before finally settling  in Virginia. She has been guiding in the outdoor industry for 5 years.Sally Ontiveros climbing guide In that time she has instructed paddling, mountain biking, and of course climbing. Sally has guided in VA, WV, and CA. Her work in California has included Joshua Tree, Pinnacles, and off trail peak ascents in the Sierras. Of the climbing styles, she enjoys slabby trad routes and delicate faces the most.

Most people find a day of climbing with Sally to be full value. Whether you are looking for a cruiser day of climbing the classics or are taking an instructional course, Sally’s expertise in tailoring a day of climbing is sure to help you meet your goals.

When Sally is not climbing, she enjoys yoga, cycling, art and travel. During the winter months, she has worked as a snowboard instructor and is now taking up ice climbing and ski touring.

Sally graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a B.S. in Geographic Science. She is certified by the American Mountain Guides Association as a Single Pitch Instructor and Climbing Wall Instructor. Sally holds a Wilderness First Responder certification and has completed the AIARE Level I and II avalanche courses. Sally’s most recent honor has been her acceptance into the AMGA CWI Provider Pool.
