New River Gorge, WV - Rock climbing in the New River Gorge region is located in three river gorges – New, Gauley, and Meadow. Between these areas there are thousands of routes, which attract rock climbers from all over the world! The area has every type of climbing: cracks, faces, slabs, overhangs, roofs, top rope, sport, trad and bouldering. Within the miles of rock, you are sure to find the perfect route of any style, whether you are a beginner or experienced climber.

Climbing at the New River Gorge could involve a short approach to drop top ropes from the top of the cliff or lead sport or trad routes. Alternatively, a slightly longer approach and ladder descent takes you into the famous Endless Wall. Our guides can help you experience climbing for the first time, learn to build you own anchors or lead climb, or show you around the miles of cliff line. The Gorge has a variety of other outdoor recreation in addition to rock climbing. The New River has class III-V whitewater, cross country trails for mountain biking, hiking, or running, and numerous swimming holes for summer afternoons.
