Blue Ridge Mountain Guides is an AMGA Accredited Business based in Virginia within the South-Atlantic and operates in 5 states and over 12 destinations. Our team of instructors and guides are as diverse as our terrain. Many of our team members come from fields such as education, engineering, medicine, or the military. We seek industry professionals that have undergone AMGA training and certification to deliver the best experience possible for guests.


Job Title: Guide

Description:
Guides are responsible for guiding and instructing clients on trips and courses in VA, WV, and NC, either autonomously or in a team. Single pitch and multi-pitch work should be expected. Ideal candidates would be located central to BRMG’s locations and be willing to travel. However, area/region specific hiring is possible.

Required Credentials: (all must be current)
- AMGA Apprentice Rock Guide or higher
- Capable of passing the AMGA Rock Rescue Drill
- Wilderness First Responder Wilderness EMT

Type of Position: Part Time or Full Time Seasonal
Candidates must be available between April 1 through November 30 for:
Partial Availability
Required Availability:
Provide 24 weekend days of Schedulable Availability.
OR
Full Availability
Required Availability:
Provide 48 weekend days of Schedulable Availability.

Wage: Paid as an employee. Dependent on AMGA credentials and experience.

Job Title: Instructor

Description:
Instructors are responsible for guiding and instructing clients on trips and courses in VA, WV, and NC, either autonomously or in a team. Instructors are hired to work in single pitch terrain. However, candidates proficient in multi-pitch terrain and the AMGA Rock Rescue Drill may be invited to attend in-house multi-pitch training.

Multiple positions are available. Ideal candidates would be located central to BRMG’s locations and be willing to travel. However, area/region specific hiring is possible and we are seeking at least one instructor with primary availability in the Great Falls, VA area.

Required Credentials: (all must be current)
- AMGA SPI or higher
- Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness EMT

Job Title: AIARE Instructor or Course Leader

Description:
An AIARE Instructor or Course Leader for BRMG will teach AIARE 1, 2, and Avalanche Rescue courses based in North Conway, NH. Classroom sessions will be conducted virtually to maximize field time and limit COVID-19 risk. AIARE Instructors and Course Leaders are also eligible for other guiding or instructional days with BRMG, within their AMGA Scope of Practice.

- AMGA Apprentice Ski/Splitboard Guide or higher
- AIARE Course Instructor or Course Leader
- Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness EMT

Type of Position: Part Time or Full Time Seasonal

Job Title: NH Winter Guide

Description:
A winter guide in NH will guide and instruct ice climbing, backcountry skiing, and mountaineering, depending on their AMGA Scope of Practice.

Required Credentials: (all must be current)
- For ice climbing or mountaineering: AMGA Apprentice Alpine Guide or higher- completion of the AMGA Ice Instructor Course, Alpine Guide Course, or both.
- AIARE Level 1, Avalanche Rescue, or higher (other avalanche credentials accepted)
OR
- For ski guiding: AMGA Apprentice Ski Guide or higher AND Pro 2 avalanche credential OR Level III credential
- Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness EMT
